Afrikoa is South Africa’s first direct-trade chocolate. Afrikoa chocolate is made from bean to bar with heirloom cocoa beans that are sustainably sourced and purchased directly from African farmers (no middlemen). By trading directly with farmers, they not only ensure the freshest, finest-quality cocoa beans but also empower farmers to create their own sustainable futures. While almost two thirds of the world’s cocoa is grown in Africa, most of it is exported to Europe and America where it is turned into chocolate before being returned to our African shores. Afrikoa cocoa beans never leave the continent, travelling just far enough to the southern tip of Africa, where their experienced chocolate-makers create the perfect chocolate bar while supporting farmers and local communities.
